Blitzkrieg sounds FARTY?

Am I the only one here who feels that the blitzkrieg pedal makes your guitar sound like its farting?

I was so stoked when i bought the blitzkrieg but when I tried it, it was such a disappointment. 1, the flipswitch difference was so subtle, not much change at all. 2, even with the gain knob at 0, instead of enhancing my clean tone, it makes it sound worse. Its like the tone is breaking up but not in a nice way like other boosters would do by creating a nice grit to your cleans aka "dirty clean". This pedal sounds like it overloads the signal so much that the speakers are farting.

Or........

Maybe i got a bad pedal.

Not trying to sound mean or to diss goose, I used to own a 7th heaven and Kult and they are amazing pedals. But i am really disappointed with this one..

I've got the Blitzkrieg as well and it doesn't have the problem you mentioned. I actually quite like it compared to my old EP. The flip switch and gain are somewhat subtle but noticeable! I've got a Strat and Ceriatone DZ-30 for my rig.

What is your setup that the Blitzkrieg is running with? Sometimes certain amps and pedals just don't get along even when both are fine in their own right.

Ah, i see. It could be there i got a faulty pedal..

I have tried the EP before and thought i was great but i wanted to give the blitz a try.

I have tried running it into a Peavy JSX head (5150 cab), Line 6 spider head & cab, small pratice amps like Marshall MG15 & Line6 spider. All seem to have this problem..

I have also tried a setup with just the booster (Guitar > Blitz > amp) and i still have this problem..

Dam... The thing is, i dont know if the pedal supposed to be like this or do i have a faulty one because there are ZERO demos of this pedal online.

Maybe some kind person would like to record a quick demo of the Blitzkrieg and post it here? :D

ive been monitoring this thread with great interest as Ive experienced the same issues as Nicola. I too, have suspected that my pedal is faulty.

Ive tested it in my amp. In front and in the loop. Ran it in front of my Axe fx 2. Different amps, clean and dirty, only to hear the same boomy results. I thought its 'just me' till i see someone experiencing the same issues...

Nice to hear that i am not the only one experiencing this. I will email goose later to see if this was how the pedal was meant to be and what are his thoughts on this matter. I'll update here when he replies :)

thanks nicola! like yourself, I do believe in Goose's vision and quality of his pedals... so .... do post your findings here. thanks bud!

Alright i just got the pedal back from goose.

It seems that the pedal is fine, it sounded VERY NICE when he tested it at the shop infront of me. There wasnt the problem that i mentioned earlier. It could be that its a power supply problem because i doubt its the amp problem. I am currently using a 1spot and daisy chaining it to quite a few pedals. Maybe i should try using an isolated power supply.

Anyway, just wanted to say thanks to Goose for great customer service and for making these wonderful pedals. I was really shocked when he tested the blitzkrieg at his shop, it sounded amazing. Totally not what i expected.

Great! That's good to know! I'll give it a go at higher level. But the strange thing is that I'm running the pedal at isolated 18v from the T. rex chameleon power supply. Aaarrggg....

Have you tried it with isolated 9v or 12v? I remember goose mentioning that he liked it best at 12v.

If not, you can try bringing down to his shop and let him have a look at it. Bring down your pedalboard and power supply as well.
