Blasting music infront of my acoustic

PLEASE NOTE; i know playing your acoustic is the best way to age it...but i want to find a way to keep it aging even when i'm not playing...

Vibrating the acoustic with some kind of machine apparently doesn't age the guitar the same way as playing it..this is because the vibrations go through areas which don't usually vibrate if you were to actually play the guitar...

but what if i used other methods? Will blasting loud music actually make the guitar wood vibrate as if i was playing it, thus making it age the same way?

And, will humidity affect the way an acoustic guitar would age?

yes on the humidity part, infact for any guitar, a Strat or a Flying V or a classical...

I don't know about the music part, but maybe if you play enough Bodom, the acoustic may give you natural distortion =]

IMHO, unlikely, not too practical as well. But I've read about people putting their handphones inside blasting songs.

More accurately, humidity will affect how your guitar will perform.
Daily fluctuating umidity levels surrounding your instrument will cause an unwanted shrink-swell cycle. Bad for the glue and bad for the wood as well.
Too dry and it will crack, too wet and it will bulge and warp. Ideal is 50-60% humidity level.
From personal experience, I can hear a dampening of the tone after leaving the guitar out for a few days in the open. Obvious sign of water content in the guitar when things get somewhat muted. After dehumidifying it, it sounds a lot more airy and open now.

Do note that I'm talking about guitars with at least a solid top. Laminates are less susceptible to warpage and cracking due to humidity levels. And they do not mature, age or 'open' up with time and playing.

Wolfman, everything I want pocket must be deep deep. So it's just another to the list. Haha...

A buddy just purchased one on a super duper fragilistic great deal from america, we await with baited breath on it's arrival hopefully by this week.
