Black List of buyers/sellers

Is there any issues with creating a database/thread of HP numbers of dishonest sellers/buyers here?

Just got stood up by a buyer who decided not to answer my one million calls when we are supposed to meet. Reminds me of another deal when a seller decided to turn off his phone when I went all the way to his block *facepalm*. Or another one who msged me to tell me he cant make it because he was doing a recording at the time we are supposed to meet, and telling me the deal is off because of that, and then msging me a few weeks later again asking me if the pedal is still available *double facepalm*.

Why do such people exist?

As pissing as it may be, I guess I should rely on forum nick/rep points next time.

I think there may be legal problems with posting other peoples' details? You could get into more trouble for doing it, than the person for not honouring your agreement in the first place. And even if there wasn't, you know the saying: there's your side of the story, my side of the story, and the truth. Then there will be the issue of having an impartial moderator to maintain the list, and people who want to be taken off the list...

Rep points don't mean much. I was down-repped by my favourite softie Santana for being a "moron".

Oh well, we have our fair share of bad deals. Maybe we should all make it to point to ask the buyer for his/her soft id before the deal, just precautionary measures i guess.

lol I think I got a bit of that too.

Singapore privacy laws are virtually non-existent. Look at the laughable protection we have against sms/flyers/telemarketer spam. I don't think anyone goes into a deal with a disclaimer of contractual obligation with any form of terms along the lines of 'you will not disclose my contact information to any third party whatsoever', and even if they did, terms like that would hold very little legal water. They would first need to show that they experienced spam/harassment (which again is very loosely defined here), and then draw the legal connection that your disclosure of their contact information was indisputably a direct and primary contributory cause of the spam/harassment.

(Singapore Spam Control Act, check out Part I s6.)

Such a registry should include objective, undeniable proof. e.g. full sms/email transcript, photos, timestamps etc. Transcript or screenshots of the very messages themselves, not loosely paraphrased "I told him abc, xyz." Simple story of he say/she say should not be accepted. Objective evidence as a basic requirement to minimise any room for dispute.

y dun we just start here mate? me too got a loooooong list of dispute seller here (especially those fakers)
crossing the whole island n found out it was a fake really freaking damn tiring..

the worst case scenario is when you buy something from a reputable seller on soft and the item ends up being faulty.

the best part is, he'd tell you irresponsible things like: "I bought like that. I sell like that."

how not to be disappointed?

end of the day, it doesn't make a difference whether you are dealing with someone on soft or not. rather, it's just a matter whether you meet the right person to make a deal with.
