black coating on top chromed pickup

Can you please use the macro function on your camera?

It is a FLOWER icon. Use that for close up shot please
 
You've got a plastic protector on the pickups, which are usually found on new watches and handphones too. You can remove that. Is that the thing you are talking about? You mentioned chrome, which I only see in those pics refers to the pickup ring, but I don't see any blackish coating on it.
 
erm.. its the thing surrounding the pickup. had some blackish oilish stain. but i'm sure nothing dirty touched the guitar.. i tried wiping, and i use wet tissue to wipe.. it doesn't come out..
 
Its the plastic covering. Take it off.

You know, it would have been really really nice to at least, mention you got the guitar already since so many have come to try and help you thru the 2 (is it 2?) threads you have started just to help you find the right guitar.
 
hahhaha yea.. got it.. was nice.. fast.. but the top string buzz when i strum on it.. how do i fix it? hmm and yea.. thx to those tat helped me in this choice yea.. hahaha

but hey.. shredcow.. i took off the plastic already. im refering to the metal chrome surround the pups. it has a black like things on it.. lyk stain..look at the pics. the areas beside the screws.

Does the buzz come out of the amp? Turn up your amp very loud, play clean, listen to the amp, NOT the guitar. If no buzz thru amp, its usually okay.

Its starting to corrode. Very weird for a new guitar.
 
yes, there is a buzz when i on it real loud.. strumming through all the string.. maybe 3 out of 4 times. i bought it like a week ago and this happens? so what u think i shld do?

uh. To get rid of buzz you have to raise your action. You say you STRUM real hard, that means you want to have like, really high action to be able to get rid of the buzz. Action = distance of strings from fretboard.

Try a lighter touch. Its an electric, not an acoustic/classical.


You have to wipe down your guitar EVERYTIME after playing. I guess you didn't wipe those parts. I'm afraid you can't do anything other than to start wiping down properly now
 
looks like tarnish to me. u might want to use a clean polishing cloth on the hardware the next time u change ur strings...
 
oh okay thx. or maybe some strong chemicals can get rid of it? anyway.. thx man.. and err. what do u guys use to clean after playing ur guitar?
 
If you wish to use like brasso or autosol, do take the whole pup ring out first. Those things will kill the guitar finish. And oh, your rings might change colour. hehe.

Just use a clean cloth and wipe down with somehting like Dunlop 65.
