ok firstly i just wanna say i know the history and story between bill lawrence and bill lawrence usa so this thread is not about that. don't tell me get from bill n becky better, i know.

i just wanna ask if anyone tried the bill lawrence USA L500XL and how do you find it? rate it on its own merits and sound, disregard the history n story.

how does the sound compare vs the dimebucker or the bill lawrence (bill n becky) L500XL (comment about this if you have tried and compared the pickups mentioned)?

cos i'm not getting any email response from bill n becky so i think i may just have to settle on the bill lawrence usa version.

hey mate...becky dont actually reply to email queries most of the time...same thing happened to me last time when i wanna order a set of singlecoils..so i end up just ordering one set thru their paypal system and within days becky sent an email to confirm the order..

Same.. I emailed them like 5 times and called them like 2 or 3 times early in the morning and still no answer. In the end i settled for a pair of Dimarzios.

IDK about comparing the dimebucker/L500XL but many people have said that the L500XL is more versatile.

But i used to have the L500R (Bill Lawrence USA) and i find it to be surprising crunchy for a neck pickup and very articulated. Good for cleans also.

IMO you could get similar quality or better pickups with big after market brands like SD or Dimarzio.

If i'm gonna pull out my wallet i expect decent customer service which Bill n Becky does not deliver.

But i bet that those L500s are going to be very collectable in the future when the old man passes away.

More of a DIY stuff --

you have to state what you want and add up all the cost.
And play the waiting game.

the bridge 500XL pickup from bill lawrence USA sounded like a Dimarzio Steve's special. Mahogany is where this pickup shines.
