Biggest regret in your music life

1. Buying pedals
2. Not taking my piano seriously when i was young
3. Not learning music theory, i just started to learn again tho.

not starting on drums as early as i did the violin ....

:(

wtf?
i didn't know u learnt violin.

haha, but i really regretted not taking my piano lessons seriously back then.
and they weren't cheap too.
although i have the grades now, i'm still pushing myself to be a decent performer.
if only i took those finger exercises seriously and sticking to the correct fingerings.

but other than that, i'm quite happy with my music life.
haha.
maybe cos i'm still young=]=]

Mine's about the same as Visa. Leaving my Fender Jazz with my pedals in the boot of a taxi and I never got it back.. I wonder what the taxi uncle did with my bass..

haha i think i'm a bit slow in guitar as well. Been playing for exactly a year but i still can't nail down ozzy orsbourne's crazy train main riff during the verse. I'm not sure though, what do you guys think. After one year of playing, should i be far ahead and playing more advanced stuff or am i on track?

^ Don't worry your still on track. I was no where near playing riffs after my 1st year. haha mostly strumming. My biggest regret? Implulsive buying and not learning music theory haha.

My biggest regrets musically:

1. Not taking up guitar till NOW. Now having to learn songs like Happy Birthday and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. Oh well have to start somewhere.
2. Being a Papa Roach fan during nu-metal craze.

ya la nickybutt. I went to your room and it was like filled with gear. i think if you were to sell all of it you can get 12 motorbikes!!

^3

good for you la ..

im still stuck at grade 5 theory .. and ive forgotten most of it already ..

haha ok phew, cos my friend started learning guitar around the same time as me. And he claims he can already play canon rock and metallica's ride the lightning is easy to him. Either he's lying or he's the ghost of jimi hendrix.

not forcing my conductor in secondary school to put me into percussions. if not, i'd be a lot better than what i am now. i hope..

and spending money on crap instead on getting a guitar starter kit years ago.

Probably lying, get him to play in front of you.

Yeah.... I know EXACTLY how that feels. Fast solos.....well.
And i thought I'm like the only one who's been 'procrastinatng' my guitar learning. I'm not improving fast enough even after playing for 6 years. -_-"
So I'm not alone! Yay!:p:p:p

I though almost everyone on SOFT are guitar experts from the way you guys replied to thread questions.

Well, some of us here in SOFT are actually just knowledge-based on our answers...we know what to do, what to strum, what to shred, but we can't do what we have learnt...due to limitations and lack of discipline. But I can assure you that almost 60-70% of SOFT guitarists are mad guitarists! They can shred the guitar like a shredding machine. I get demoralised by it.

But....oh well...I'll just try to make myselft happy by playing Guitar Hero.
