Hi all!

Just a thought, what's your biggest regret since starting out in music?

For me, i guess its noodling for years and not learning properly!

Doodling on guitars and doing nothing else. I still can't shred and do impressive fast solos until now. It's very depressing but y'know, oooh weellllllll.

Oh yeah, and playing more guitar hero than guitar :D

haha, i feel u, TOTALLY MAN. playing for five yrs alr, only now im engaging a teacher!!!! im feeling so old alr!!!!

lost all my pedals! dt10, mxr-80, ce5, sm58 mic, patch cables, extra strings, batteries, argh.

learning abit of theory here and there was the best thing I did for my music. It came quite naturally though, I couldn't and didn't rush into it any faster than I could absorb. It accelerated my learning and my understanding of music as a whole multiple-fold.

start with the basics and make sure you understand them before you jump in any deeper. music is not a competition for you to show off how much you know- it's more important that you can understand and apply what you have learnt.

I have been playing for close to 6 years already bro. So we're in the same boat, oh well....I really can't be arsed to shred. :( *start picking stairway to heaven in a dark corner*

Being to lazy to continue to get a diploma in violin after finished grade 8 last year.. now only theory knowledge retains

think i forgot how to do all those impressive stuff on the violin. Lost my touch boo :(

not starting on drums as early as i did the violin ....

:(

^5

I also regret not starting as early as I did with games(since like 4-5 years old). Got into drumming and wanted to learn more since like sec 1 or 2... Drag until poly year 2 den learn T-T

Yeah.... I know EXACTLY how that feels. Fast solos.....well.
And i thought I'm like the only one who's been 'procrastinatng' my guitar learning. I'm not improving fast enough even after playing for 6 years. -_-"
So I'm not alone! Yay!:p:p:p

I though almost everyone on SOFT are guitar experts from the way you guys replied to thread questions.

Was learning violin last time, and decided to stop because of school and the acoustic guitar.

Really regret now because if I had continued on the violin, I would be just as good on the guitar as well.:mad::mad::mad:

i guess my other regret is also not getting a better quality guitar to enhance my musical enjoyment earlier.. concentrated too much on technique over sound! sad to say i only gained tonal enlightenment ONLY THIS YR!

not taking those Yamaha keyboard lessons seriously when young..............not picking up drums earlier......
