can the pickup slot of the p-90 on the gibson les paul bfg fit a humbucking pickup like the one in the bridge?

no- it's strictly spaced for a P-90...

iv seen some dude cut a bigger hole on his les paul deluxe(the one that comes in mini-humbuckers)to fit a duncan.but i dont think replacing a p-90 on the bfg is worth it.

Are we sure he can route for a humbucker?

I can't recall the details but the BFG is apparently very heavily weight relieved. An x-ray was posted on TGP...

Best to check that x-ray out... you don't want to send the guitar in for routing only to realise you've routed into the weight relieve chambers.

ouch!if cut into the chambers than that is 1.4k gone.the least chambered is the 2002 standard.anyways whats wrong with the ones on the BFG?

There's an X Ray of the BFG there - yes... that's why I was worried. You might route into the weight relieve chambers.
