Hi all, tis is really a warning message i feel all of us should get...

nowadays there are many sellers who post their guitars cheaply on buy/sell...i managed to see one i like very much, but due to previous unplesent deals with rudinho who successfully cheated $130 from me with his crappy les paul wif false refund claims from him...moving on.

the seller is souljammer n his les paul, on 25th nov, i saw his post n got him to sell at $180...but i would need a sound test first before making rash decisions, i didnt reserve at first cos i did not wanted to disappoint him if i didn't get it eventually...but on sunday, 26th nov, i told him tat i'll 99% get the guitar, i just need to test the sound...he said ok...and we fixed to do it at amk on the 28 oct, 8pm...but ard 6pm tat day, he told me he can't make it due to ot, hence, we reconfirmed another time which is wed 29 oct 6.30pm same place... but on 28th oct 9.45pm he smsed me telling me he sold the guitar alrdy...claiming i did not reserve the guitar

1) i told him 99% will get the guitar (equivalent to a reserve)
2) i visited the post n he claims to sold the LP posted on 27th nov, 8am
(which is way b4 when i reconfirmed the sound test)
3) he sold the guitar for $250, which means if u have no cash bang
sumwhere else

so soulflyjammer, u have really reflected urself badly in tis failed deal, sellers complain of ppl backing out the deal, but tat doesn't mean sellers can back out as n when they like...

dude. chill man. every seller wants to earn more. even if he/she has to push away a reservation. you as a buyer must know this and couldn't just flame this dude anyhow. at least he told u he has sold it to someone else.

if I have to name all the sellers that behave like that, i would have to create one new thread every week for that

ya, i'm just saying...cos there are sellers tat complain about buyers backing out...even if he wants to make more money, if he wants to push the reservation then he have to ask the other guy if he can offer higher or not...

i've experienced that before. its not very uncommon. the least he should have done is the inform u. but i think posting his user on soft is pretty extreme..

i mean he didnt cheat ur money right?

oh and my case the dude even told me u better not back out ah

hey man you are just making a fool of yourself,
stop whining, you did not reserve it
naturally, the best offer wins, if you wanted it so much, just go his house collect la, imho you are making a mountain out of a molehill.
did you even think about the repuccusions after posting this thread?

If you've placed a deposit then you've got a case.
Otherwise, it's just like making empty promises to each other.
At least you still have your money.
Save up some more and get a better guitar.

by right, if you made an offer (180) and he accepted it, and even set a specific timing to deal, its an agreement, and he broke it... technically speaking he broke an agreement or a "contract" but anyway tts 1 of e problems with online buyin and sellin in forums

Oh by the way, after reading your post again I have to ask.
So is it Nov or Oct?
Happened, happening or going to happen?
I'm confused already.
Hehehehe

Technically speaking, he did not break any agreement because it isn't written in black or white, so there isn't any concrete agreement. Verbal agreements count for nothing.

If the seller has good ethics, he will definitely reserve and deal with you straight, but sadly, human nature is greed.

Live and let live.

Dude. 99% does not equal a resevation. It means u MIGHT back out of it all the same. At least he told u that he already sold it and he didn't collect any $$ from u either. It's like that la. Needless to say sellers would also prefer to go for the person who offered more la

Sad to say, these days, i guess the good ol' gentlemen's mutual agreement of "You have my word" doesn't hold much weight anymore....

"Nevermind the integrity, show me the money"...~shrug~

meh.too bad.at least he didnt kill your family or commit arson to your house or something.
thats how people work.those who've experienced before, will know that many people don't keep their loving word.most people who schedule a time like one week after or something, either vanish off or forgot HOW to reply sms.there are some, who reply though,
thinking that they are so right after having items reserved.no big deal one la.

Bro,

99% is not a reserve - 99 dollars deposit is a reserve. I will side with the seller on this. At least he told you he can't meet you rather than FFK you. I've had buyers who said they are guranteed to buy it (100% sure) - but guess what - they stop answering calls & FFk me. Quit whining +1.

99% does not mean you have a chance to deal with the seller. The seller can use the 1% ,not to confirm & backing up the deal. And the deal can be a last minute deal for the seller. I will side with the seller on this too. At least he told you he can't meet you last minute.Lucky he didn't say it is 100% reserved for you.If he said that and he backed up the deal,I will just smash his face into pieces.
