it's not about 'good'; P-90 gives a different tone to work with, basically a single coil tone but much meatier. because it's single coil, it would generate excessive background hum when used with lots of distortion. on some days, i love hearing my P-90s in action- it has that in-between tone making it sound, well... em... slightly different
