I can't pay for drum lessons but I'm 15 and a fast learner. I have a kit and a year of drumming under my belt already, however I know there are a certian set of skills (basic rudements and strokes) that all pro drummers know and use. For example the moller technique. My question is what techniques should I learn to really take my drumming to the next level (be specific) and from what cite. Like how to play so fast or fill ideas. The drummer from job for a cowboy is a great example

speed: train french grip
power: train rim shots on snare and toms

best tip for any musicians irregardless of wad instrument you playing:
-touch your instrument at least once a day.

i started off doing jaychou's drum cover: nothing too difficult basic 16beats and half bar fill-ins
before advancing to pop disco and now R&B

U shld go to freedrumlessons for tips, and u shld purchase dvds for beginner drumming, and watch it over and over again till you get it, And the most impt part is to practise drums with metronome, get your friends to help and judge you, and you have to practise smart instead of practise hard :)
