hello all,

for a decent tube stack amp at home with cabinet? what to get.?
here's the contestant,
1. Orange tiny terror?
2. krank rev junior?
3. Blackheart ?

thinking of Marshall or randall... but it's too big, and the power seem redundant

but dude.dont limit your amp choices just because of bedroom issues.i assume you want a smaller amp because it might affect your neighbours.just get a good tube amp regardless the wattage.if the wattage and power is reduntant then get an attenuator to run the tubes amp gig volume but at friendly levels.

Of the 3 amps, I would take the orange tiny terror. It really has a very wide range of gain on board from mild break up and metal mayhem when boosted with a od pedal. The only problem is that there's no tone stack but if that doesn't matter to you, its definitely the amp to get.

You can try the Rev Jr at TYMC. My experience with it isn't really good. The sound doesn't seem to project out and there seems to be lacking gain. Pretty funny considering it's made by Krank.

try what you can. There are people here with 100w amp + half stack at home. so no need to limit yourself. I cranked my 60w tube amp untill my neighbours upstairs knocked on their floor (my ceiling), & i dont care. What matters most is that after you play that ...... amp, you feel steamed & shiock!!

i'd go for either the Orange tiny terror or the Blackheart.

but the blackheart head + cab is like $500, which is less than 1/2 the price of the Orange head alone.. which makes it pretty darn attractive!

anyway here's my bedroom stack. its a 20w marshall 2061X, without a master volume, and a vertical 2x12 cab.

with the volume past 3, the entire family comes knocking.

with the volume past 5, it starts getting the most incredible classic rock plexi tone, and the neighbours start knocking :P

so, i think a Blackheart 5w is a better idea. seriously thinking of getting one! :)

honestly,

i don know what the good thing bout tube as an guitar amp itself. that's why i comteplate on getting a set. however after setting for a set of zakk wyle minstack... the though of Tube.. still linger... urrghhh... is this the GAS virus?

though i am a audiopile listening to music( i understood why ppl will want to invest in Audio research, Mcintosh, Cayin etc, due to the warm and life-like sound. coupled up best with vinyl).

can someone share his though on a kid investing in Tube guitar amp plse? what's the pro and con in terms of sound? what's the do and dont, when i have a set?
