bass strings for BEAD tuning

yo softies, i have a question. i string my bass to the BEAD tuning, and i have not been able to find strings for this. what i did previously was i bought a set of slinkies for a 5string bass, and used the 4 heavier strings. that has been the only solution so far.. kinda money wasting to me. so is there anywhere that sells real heavy gauges for a 4string set? at least .120 for the low B. coz all the 4string sets i see go to .110 highest =(

the heaviest gauge set i have ever seen is the warwick black label DARK LORD set...

previously discussed here

but even in that thread, still no lobang for the strings

Dark Lord is, by default, tuned to F(sharp)BEA.

i'm not sure if Warwick ships strings that are meant specifically for their Taranis model, which is tuned BEAD by default, but that's all i can think of BESIDES buying a pack of 5 strings, then wasting one string.

dark lords is overkill.. i think they invented that bass coz they had too much time.. seriously most of the low notes that the 4th string produces sound so percussion-y... nothing like a bass =\ but i guess it appeals to a certain few... just like how there are ppl who have 9string basses...

yeah i need a taranis set of strings... any1 seen anything like it? anything with a gauge between 115-125 for the fourth string...

nice! know where i can get em, and how much do they cost?

i've read reviews of this set of strings online, and the users say that they don't really last that long... any1 here used this set b4?

For me, I just buy D'addario XL nickels 5 string set, 0.45 - 0.130. I just give away the 0.45. So far it's worked pretty well. A set like that cost about $27 so it's not as expensive as DRs. May wanna try this.

I'd just get a 5 string set from webstrings.com - at US$12.90 a set (about SGD$18) there's not much to lose in trying a set out :)
