hello all bass playing people, im new to the bass section. as i am a lead guitar player

anyway. i am looking into purchasing a VERY CHEAP bass and bass amp. if u guys know any good starter pack thingies around sg, cheap bass stores or if anyone is selling some secondhand stuffs lemme know!

im also new to bass, so im curious about techniques and skills for bass. cus when i look at bass tabs i LOL hard, and think really?

-1-1-1-1-0-0-0-0-2-2-2-2-3-4-5-1 <-- usually the type of bass tablature i see(ignoring the other strings)

also, is it possible to play bass with a pick? or must use fingers?

im a total beginner with bass. but i have some experience with guitar so i can learn fast.

Actually, for many of the questions you are asking, the answers can already be abundantly found in the Bass section my friend. Do read up the older threads or posts and I'm sure much of it will be answered.

And yes, you can play the Bass with a pick should you choose to do so.

Bass and Lead Guitar, both play very different roles in a band. Likewise, their tabs won't appear very similar. Get what I mean?

Nope, there's no rule or limiting in it. Just majority people use fingers

1. SX Bass Guitar Package at Davis - peninsula basement. ard $250 with bass, amp and etc.
2. u can use a pick but it is much thicker loh. i know it's common sense to most of u, but some pple might not know la.
3. since u can play guitar, if you know chords, you can also play progression on the bass lo. most basic is play root note. Em C G D/F# - the chords for zombie by cranberries. find the notes on the fretbd than play along the track lo. and u can play power chords on bass as well.
4. If you know scales on E.guitar, just apply it on the bass. major,minor,pentatonic and etc
5. Have Fun!!
