Bass backing tracks?

Hey there.
I just got my bass so like planning to play around first. Want to ask how do you guys usually play the bass to a song? With the original song file or are there bass backing tracks that like have guitars drums and no bass for you to play along. Tried to find around but can't find any.

Also, any good sites to learn bass?

Thanks!

There are several good Youtube videos for beginner bass. You may search there.

As beginner, I'll suggest that you start grasping the idea of tempo instead of notes. This fundamental skill will carry you far as bassist need to play in-time.

You may use metronome found in websites for your tempo practise.

After these has been established you can move on to play notes and riffs.

To learn difficult riffs, there are software/hardware tools to either enhance or remove the bass tracks in songs. For example I am using Tascam MP-BT1, which is a special MP3 player designed for bassists. It has the capability of both enhancing bass tracks so that you can hear the bass notes clearer, and also the capability of removing bass tracks so that you can play along.

i got a ghetto way for practicing. i got a guitar pro and i downloaded the guitar pro files for the song i wanna play and than mute the bass and play along with the song. sometimes mute the guitar and just work on timing with the drums
