Hi guys..just wanna get some advise on kustom KBA16 bass amp which I got from Davis Guitar somewhere last year. I hardly play and kept it most of the time. One fine day, I plug in and discovered it was not working. Upon checking, I discovered the fuse was blown for no apparent reason. I got it replaced.
This is the funny part. After replaced a new fuse, I power up the unit and saw white fume coming out from the back of the unit. Thought something had burned inside. I shut off the power supply. After checking, I saw two capacitor seemingly bloated but still able to power up the unit. But discovered cracking sound coming from speaker thereafter.
Is it worth to replace a new8" speaker and get it service or just dump it and get a new unit? But it's still running fine except problem for speaker. Davis guitar claimed warranty is over. Anyone out there encounter such dire situation? Please advise. thanks.
