Saw a locked thread about this so I though I'd share mine.

This shop thats located somewhere in the city area. Lets just call it the 'Divine' shop.

Mid-March:
I wanted to check out the prices of some of the bass there. So I requested help from the sales assistant. They told me to write my number and the series of the bass down. So I did and they told me they would get back to me the following week.

The week passed so I thought they forgot or something. So I called back again to ask. A lady on the other line answered. She said that the person in charge was away and that my request would be entertained the following week. A week later there was still no call.

March final week
So I thought never mind, I'll head down when I'm free again, they probably have very good business. Too busy. No time to entertain me. So I went down personally for a second time at the start of this month. This time a friendly salesgirl entertained me. I told her the basses I were interested in and asked for a quotation. Since they were jap basses, she said she would need to check the prices. I was okay with that and once a gain I was told to leave my number again and she said she would get back to me the following week.

April Week 1
The week passed and still no news. So I dropped by the shop again on the following week. This time round I was entertained by a male salesperson. He told me the salesperson in charge of japanese ESP instruments was not around and it was better to call them and gave me their namecard. Alright. So another wasted trip. I was too free anyways so nevermind.

April Week 3
At arnd 1p.m on Tuesday. Made a call to them to ask about the bass. A guy picked up and told me to call back an hour later bcos the person was not around. So I called back about 1 hour later. The person said that the salesperson was still not around and to call back a few hours. So I thought to call back again on Wednesday.

At arnd 12 on Wednesday. Made another call. I was really asking for it and sure enough the salesperson was not around(went for lunch). So I called around 3. Finally the salesperson was there. So I inquired about the price of a particular bass. She told me I would need to make a fixed deposit payment if I wanted to make the order. So I said I would drop by on Friday.

So after my exams on Friday, I went down to the shop at around 1. To my utter disgust, the salesperson told me she got the model wrong. She got the quotation of a guitar instead of the bass I wanted. So she told me to wait
till 4 and she would call me with the new quotation. So I waited like a dumbass for another 3 hours. When it was 4 plus and I received no call, I called back to check. "Oh she left already. She'll probably call you back tomorrow." Okay. I'd had it by then. I was already shagged out that day due to exams so I went back to sleep. I did receive a miss call at arnd 7 by the time I woke up but by then I'd already given up on the shop.

Is it so hard to get a bass imported from overseas? And that 'Divine' shop probably has plenty of customers and business and I think I'm probably just another customer. The feeling I got was that they regarded my business more like a joke. Like some kid trying to make an order when he doesn't own the cash when I'm actually really serious about making a purchase.

I actually think I know what shop you're talking about, and if I'm right then I've had the same experience there. The only thing you can do is take your business elsewhere, where it would be appreciated. Have you tried Ishibashi or something?

Yeah. I was actually dealing with Ishibashi as sort of a fail-safe plan. Turned out they were even more efficient. The deal is more or less going through already and I settled it in like less than 4 days compared to the 1 month with that wonderful 'Divine Shop'.

Anyone with enough experience in the City Hall clump of shops knows which shop he's talking about. Haha. jskadiang's right. Ishibashi.

Even better, ditch the ESP and get a Sadowsky...

your bad buying experiences end here.

Ishibashi's good and reliable too. you just have to wait a couple of days between emails.

@Santa: not everybody's rich enough for Sadowsky...

i only go to the 'divine' shop when i know exactly what i want, e.g. a cable, an sd pickup, the small items.

cause some of the lads there are really angels, letting you try, some are... yeah figure it out using the dan brown novel. They do what they do best and you end up either a)getting pressured to make a purchase b)disgusted and swear never to enter said divine shop.

unfortunately i suppose divine shop has their own stream of regulars and bulk purchasers and other ways to turn a profit so i don't think they have the need to care much about normal folk who don't wear business suits inside, have platinum cards or bring a briefcase full of cash in there

my suggestion, visit the said divine shop's neighbors which are more humble

For any dissatisfaction of shops, please take it up with the shops directly. Anything more serious, please go to CASE.
