just wondering which i should choose, a baby taylor swift guitar(limited edition) or a custom acoustic from city music? with the same budget, which will give a better tone and more value for money?

( i started learning guitar becuz i wanted to play taylor swift songs.. haha so really tempted to get her limited edition guitar, but the logical part of me is telling me custom acoutic more worth it )

take note that the baby taylor is really small in size. custom acoustics are bigger. you need to try them both to see which size suits you more.

custom acoustic more value for money. Baby taylors are short scaled guitars which IMO more suitable for children but sound great for it's size.

Custom Acoustic is more worth the money in my opinion. Good specifications, full-sized instruments yielding full-sized tone...

The Taylor Baby, on the other hand, is a travel guitar. Meaning, it is smaller, more portable, but won't produce the same sound as a full-sized guitar.

And because of the Taylor branding, the Baby Taylor costs even more than a full-sized Custom Acoustic. Value for money, it's gotta be Custom Acoustic all the way. Custom Acoustic is actually one of the more value for money brands around. Definitely more worth the money, and there's a wide range of models for you to personally try out and choose from.

I say that both are viable choices.

Go try them out with an open mind and listen to them objectively.

You might want to bring along a friend too for a second opinion. Preferably someone who just knows how to appreciate good music/tone but without the prior knowledge of guitars.

Buy the one that sounds and feels best to you.

You are buying a guitar, not wood. Guitars are not like furniture, specifications, looks and branding only matter to a certain degree. They need to sound good first and foremost.

I agree with Phil.

Sometimes you may be surprised that you may like how the smaller scale guitar sounds, but it cannot give you a full tone as compared to standard size. However for value of money, Custom Acoustic has an advantage over Taylor, as you can get a full solid for around $400 for Custom Acoustic. But you have to consider the tone also, no point buying the one that is value for money if you don't like the tone. I can't comment much on the tone as I haven't try them before, but anyway, go for the tone first. :)
