B.C Rich

its funny how BC rich guitars were scattered all over cash converters 10 years ago & as of now, they are more sought after than before. not a bad thing at all IMO. they are good guitars (for those I've managed to get my hands upon). at least the Korean made ones IMO. I don't really favour Schecter because they have an issue with honesty :D.

o.O care to elaborate??

sure. basically I helped one of our fellow softies strip the paint off his Schecter Omen (not too sure of the model)? According to him, he claimed that the paper specs of the guitar indicated that the top wood is flame maple. upon closer inspection, it was nothing but a veneer no thicker than a mm. the construction and all was good but they should have made a clear statement whether it was a real quilted maple top or just some quilted maple veneer. it makes a difference I'm sure.

erm dont mean to hijack the thread, but since you guys are already discussing on bc rich i cant help but ask if anyone knows if any shop has dean for sale ? :o

Not a big fan of Dean either. They feel low-quality... at least, those that I molested quite a while back gave me that impression. Not willing to spend the dough on those. If I want aggressive shapes, I'd still rather turn to either BC Rich or LTD.

Hi there TS.

As my username might imply, I'm a BC Rich user and lover myself. Here, only Davis carries BC Rich guitars, and they carry mostly the entry-level to the mid-range guitars. Don't expect the higher-end ones here. Once enquired about the Mockingbird model I wanted (the one Slash used), but they said they don't have it and won't have it.

If you're into radically-shaped high-output guitars, BC Rich is still one of the best, but LTD has some affordable offerings worth looking at as well.

that's why hor, when wanna get a guitar with flamed maple top or quilted maple top or whatever top, best is to get one with natural binding. that time wan bluff also cannot liao. just check if the grain on the top follows down to the binding or not. most like those guitars with thick thick flamed or quilted maple top + natural binding. see liao very high.

This depends on the range of dean you get. I previously owned the dave mustaine vmnt dean AOD model and it was extremely sweet. The mustaine active pickups were the best actives ive heard since and the build quality can be said to be top notched. Ive read reviews of people saying they feel that the higher end deans make some jacksons look bad, but then again, for fierce heavy playing id rather a jackson or an ESP over any other brand. Just my humble thoughts :)
