Authentic and trustworthy Soundmen

I am sure those of us who have gigged are pissed off with some soundmen, not all. Anyone can list down those good and knowledgeable soundmen, whose job is only the sound aspect and not just part-timers who doesn't have a clue and make terrible feedbacks or a guitar amp cannot be heard?

I'm pretty sure that attitude towards soundmen would in turn affect their attitude towards you. Put yourself in the shoes of the soundman; why would he want to guarantee the absolute best for your band when you ignore him, only to find him when in trouble?

+100...

went to gig and i witness a young band (playing loudly)... then the guitarist/vox couldnt hear himself. and he said thru the mic (while they are playing a song) to the soundman.. "i cant my vocals, wtf?"
and some other 'nice' things...

the soundman at the pub was peter han. i dun think ppl tis days noes how to respect... only noes how to be rockstars.

my personal soundcheck 'rules':
- listen to myself
- listen to my band
- listen to the soundman and communicate (regardless if he is a pro or not)
