Attention to experienced Pearl Rt owners..

Hi peeps,

1) i would like to know of any suggestion on which drum heads sounds decent (better than the stock) on the pearl rhythm traveller?

2) how do u guys maintain the cosmetic of the drum shell and the metal parts( rims and hardwares)?

3) what do u guys put in the bass drum in order to get a nice rebound feel?

Hey, I'm not "experienced", I've only had my RT for just a year.

1) I use Remo Coated Ambassadors. These single-ply heads are good if you like the open ringing tone.

2) Cosmetic - Once in a long while, I'll use Pledge furniture polish to polish the wrap and interior of the drums. Pledge also works great at shining up the hardware.

3) I've got a small square pillow that's lightly touching the batter & reso. But my reso is also ported, so that probably makes more difference to the feel than the pillow. What kinda feel are you looking for? Try messing around with the tuning of the batter.

if my memory serves me right, his RT has a hole on the reso.

"Ported" aka lobang... Mainly did it to cut down on the resonance, also for a slightly drier tone - more HDB friendly. Another reason is also if my finger itchy, I can adjust the pillow inside. Not recommended if you have pets! :lol:
