Hi There,
Any of you guys tried this MIJ bass before, saw it at Tom Lee music store last week in Hong Kong, I tried it silently , meaning did not tried it with the amp on, the feel is very good and it is heavy too. It is priced at HK$16000 which is about Sin $3200

I never tried it but this is what I know about it.

The Atelier Z jazz basses are reputed to be Asia's answer to the Sadowsky. If I am not wrong it also has the reputation of being the only guys who can pull off 5 and 6 string jazz basses and have them sound like jazz basses. They are modelled after '70s jazz basses but on steriods and versatility injected.

Ishibashi has 2 Atelier Zs for sale, it will set you back by about $2.3k? Alternatively, someone in SG tried selling one here too 4 months back, you can try to track him or the buyer down.

Hope that helps. If i do have my way and grab one within the next few months i will post again and let you know.

Thanks Ken for the information, I tried all the fender bass at Tom Lee music store but The Atelier Z comes out top . Tom Lee is a very nice place, I was there for 2 hours just looking around and trying all the fender bass with no one staring or looking over your shoulders.

cheers
