Aspiring singer to be...

I have strong passion in singing and I'm looking for a band to sing with.
Preferably a band which aspires to perform on stage, be it gigs or competitions.

I'm male, chinese, 28 yr old. Not from any bands or music schools. Can't play instruments and has no prior performing experience.

I sing mainly chinese songs (pop, rock) I can sing some canto, hokkien and english songs too.

If there is any bands which do not mind taking me in, please contact me at hp 91272724.

Here's a link to one chinese that i sung in ktv 男人不该让女人流泪

I know its far from perfect, but I'm working hard to improve my singing abilities, a little a day.

Aspiring singer to be,

I only listened to the first minute and this is what i have to say. take note that some people hate me on this forum because of my criticism.

to give you a start i'll give you 7/10. you've got something good there. but you need to take care of it. sounds like you have a tendency to strain your voice.

your breathing, pitching is good but rhythm needs a bit of work. you don't have to follow exactly, but you don't need to sound like you're speeding cos it sounds very messy.

my advice: get a friend who has music background and do more covers and practice. get a small musician crowd to listen to you and start small, do gigs etc. and most importantly, be honest and sincere in your singing. because you've got that voice that could melt a girl's heart.

oh. and don't be complacent. keep working on it. find your key please. you can't possibly sing every song at its original key.

self exploration is best. except when you refuse to accept the fact that you can't sing.

but you, my friend, can. needs about 50% work and 50% polishing, and you'll be good enough for gigs. :)

I agree with the above post.

You have a marketable voice albeit with hard work out in. Don't fret about trying to sound like the original artiste, be yourself. There are notes that you have trouble with but what you can learn to do is to improvise. Maybe sing the harmony for example.

Keep working on it.

You do have a rather nice voice.

reply to kimura and KhaiHan

dear kimura and KhaiHan, thanks for sparing your time to listen and comment on my recording. really appreciate that.

Kimura: yes you are right, i agree that I have not explored enough to find my own way of singing. have always been influenced by the original singers.

KhaiHan: will work harder to perfect my singing. visited your website. u've got some nice recordings there. you do any chinese songs?

Alex
