Selling an Ashdown FA40 tube guitar amplifier:
- single 12" Celestion V30 speaker
- 4x 12AX7/ECC83 preamp tubes (currently 2X Electro Harmonix, 2X Sovtek)
- 4x EL84 power amp tubes
- 8 or 4 ohm output, connectable to 16ohm external cab
- 2 channels with independent EQ
- channel 2 (overdrive) has footswitchable boost
- will include Vox double footswitch
- TWO master volumes (footswitchable)
- digital reverb
- trademark Ashdown VU meter (needle moves if you really crank it up)
- ON/OFF and standby switch
- effects loop
- very solid construction, approx. 20-25kg.
This guys basically sounds like a shit-hot Marshall amp. Very loud and ballsy, perhaps a bit too much for my purposes. I bought it in the UK and brought to SG, I believe it is the only one of this amp you can find on our shores. Works 100%, slightly dusty, maybe a few nicks in the tolex but make no mistake: once you turn it up and lay into your favourite rock song, it will be smiles all around. Selling as I recently upgraded to a Mesa Boogie.
