Bands to look out for!

Obscure-1.jpg

OBSCURE PHIONIX

http://myspace.com/obscurephionix

Formed by musicians of different backgrounds March 2005. The core members - Sha, Man, Qhai, Fiz and Yazid. Having performed at a few gigs, they have their fair share of experience. Also, the band faced many hardships that almost led them to the verge of disbandment. With the leaving of Yazid, due to disagreement of musical influence, the four core members searched for a new drummer. Taking the place of Yazid, Shah came into the picture. Obscure Phionix regained their energy and proceeded what they intended to do. ROCK INTO THE SCENE. Obscure Phionix now, a five-piece Singaporean band, concentrates mostly on metal / metalcore / progressive metal.
Their attitude and behaviour towards music borders on their insanity!

INFLUENCES:
Arch Enemy, Atreyu, Trivium, Caliban, The Black Dahlia Murder, Behemoth, Bleeding Through, Poison The Well, Underoath, Heaven Shall Burn - just to name a few

SHADOWS EMBRACE

Formed in the mid of 2002, Shadows Embrace was a five piece LionCity Metalcore band. They have been performing at several gigs. To name a few they performed in The First Step Gig and Unity Of Aggression 2004. In early of 2005 came a new female guitarist named Sid. But sadly on early November of 2005, two of the members are no longer part of the band. For Hanafi, due to personal reasons he decided that he wanted to quit and no longer be part of Shadows Embrace. And for Didil, due to the lack of musical interest she somehow just faded away. But not long Shadows Embrace decided to take their long time friend Joe as the permanent replacement bassist. As of now Shadows Embrace is 5 piece Lioncity Metalcore band. And currently now they are working out on their EP title 'The Aftermath Of Mother Nature's Wrath EP' .

RHETORICAL THEORY

About rhetoricaltheory

Tracing to 3 years back, the band, started off with Azri on the drums, Naaz on the bass, Yusman on the lead guitars & Areyz being the vocalist/rhythem guitarist. The band name was Fuzion. Our genre was heavy metal & we cover mostly Metallica's songs. But due to unconditional terms with our temporary manager, the band broke up a few months later.

They managed to gather enough strengh to restart a new. Areyz practiced hard and was moved up to the official lead guitarist with the resignation of Man. Isa replaced the rhythms after a few months of auditions. It didn't last long due to arguements over the band's genre & choice of songs.

Naaz joined a band named Ritual Mizery but the band disbanded after their first gig. Isa was still looking for a band but was unsuccessfull. Areyz & Azri started a band named Straightcut Innocence. They play mostly metal, rock & emocore songs. All of their bandmates were Azri's ex-primary schoolmates except for their bassist/2nd vocalist which is Syuhrah. Syuhrah & Azri are are schoolmates. The band silently broke up.

Azri, Syuhrah & Areyz wanted to jam as they miss the experience. So they call up Naaz to join them. As there's no 2nd guitarist, Naaz called up Isa to join them as well. From there, Rhetorical Theory was born again. Syuhrah become the vocalist for RT with Naaz backing up for her. And their music genre is changed to metalcore.

After a year plus of being together, Areyz quit the band(due to personal reasons). Zart(guitarist for Secret Agent) replaced Areyz with the guitar duties. Recently, another addition to the band was made. Naaz wanted to concerntrate on the vocal duties so he recruited Dayne(bassist for Someone Murdered Cupid) to join the band to become RT's new bassist.

Quite a long history....but we'll always be looking forward to the future...keep music evil...

INFLUENCES:
Avenged Sevenfold, Bullet For My Valentine, Trivium, As I Lay Dying, Caliban, Hatebreed, Silent Civilian, God Forbid, Machinemade God, Lamb Of God, Summer's End, Through The Eyes Of The Dead, Job For A Cowboy, Heaven Shall Burn, Bleeding Through & more!
