i'm not sure. i was in the music elective program and a violinist for the chamber orchestra in secondary school and my conductor said when i go into army he'd recommend me for MDC. maybe it was him. but i was also active in bands in university and i've been on music scholarships for about half my education. i've studied music since i was 4, and i've given violin recitals since i was 6. so they might have known about that too. i'm not sure how they get their info, but apparently their sources run deep.
i had a friend who hadn't played rugby since primary school and when he was 20+ and in the army some people from the navy asked him to stand in for a rugby game cause they needed a player. they were like "hey, you used to play rugby right?" my buddy said he hadn't told anyone in camp, so somehow they must've found out about him playing in primary school.
it's weird. how do they know????
