Are Ibanezs still made in japan?

for their prestige and J.custom guitars yes. if you are talking about the regular RG and S line, production should be in either Korea or Indonesia.
 
that's because it's actually a Prestige in disguise, hence Japanese 8)

NOTE: 'reissue' RG550 or Anniversary RG as it is better known are limited production units worldwide.
 
the Edge III is a reliable floating vibrato type bridge in terms of tuning stability. it's also a very functional unit but feels a little stiff in operation- not as bad as other brand name copies, mind you.

since the elimination of the TRS bridge from Ibanez's catalogues, there isn't any bad floater in the regular Ibanez offering. the GIO models do sport the ILT make which are decendents of the former. if you can avoid these, please do.
