hello softies! its been a long time since i have posted.. damn o level prelims

ok just some questions, when applying lemon oil on the guitar fretboard, is it better to take out all the strings before applying, or is it ok to just apply the lemon oil directly with the strings intact? sorry if this is a noob question :?

haha anw thanks in advance!

to "moisturise" the open grained wood....apply only when needed, not during every restring else u gonna have it soaked and your fretwires starting to pop out....excess of it also build up grime and things like that. hope that helps...

so if the wood is "moisturised", what happens?
better sound?

When you try out guitars in shops, sometimes you'll notice that the wood is very dry....the lack of moisture might cause it to crack? correct me if im wrong here anyone

i dunno bout you guys, but to me it's purpose isn't really to clean up. It's used on open grained woods like rosewood fretboards, not on maple :)

ouh... icic...
can it be done to any type of guitar?
hmmm if u use it on rosewood its ok... if u use it on maple... errr...

i donno... i dun do that to my maple fretboard... i scarred later my butifu lmaple change colour to yellow... lol

Maple can be cleaned with normal guitar polish because it's a finished wood, hence there is no loss of moisture due to the layer of finish.
Rosewood requires the use of lemon oil because it's an unfinished open-grain wood, so it loses moisture over time. :D

haha. my rosewood fretboard is freaking dry. all the white stripes coming out. applied once but no use ):

anw HI BENJAMIN. hahahaha.

This is the most underground secret, I'm revealing it for the first time. The ULTIMATE treatment for your rosewood fretboard.
