Apollonmusic MO in Dec/Jan

dude...

Wats the specs of their replacement strat necks? i dun see no specs....

i want to know the radius and fret sizes...

I found Apollonmusic to be a better choice than Ishibashi.

I would say 2 things..

1. Ishibashi is a more reputable company, about 10 times bigger company than Apollon with about 10 real shops throughout Japan. Ishi has been doing international sales for at least 5 years. They have a lot of things on not on their web-shop web pages that you can as for. They pack things very well. I have bought from them several times and say they are #1

2. Apollon (and their webshop Japan guitars or something like that) has been selling international in only the last 2 years. I bought a used guitar from them and their was some kind of minor undisclosed issues, like a replace volume pot and replaced screws in the pickguard and pickup rings. The guy will also try to charge the local Japan price which includes sales tax which Ishi doesn't. That's a 5% rip if you fall for it.

If you can get it from Ishi....no need to consider others.

hydrogencynide: Look for this "販売価格:xxx (本体価格) This means the selling price, excluding the 5% Japanese tax. We don't have to pay the 5% Jap tax.
If you only see "販売価格(税込)" which mean it is inclusive of Jap tax, divide by 1.05 to exclude the tax.

Use http://sg.finance.yahoo.com to convert currency. However, bear in mind that this is to give you a rough idea of the selling price. The final net price includes shipping, handling charges, insurance, S'porean GST, bank transfer fees. The more orders collected here, the lower the shipping fees will be.

There was a MO conducted by stars before, http://soft.com.sg/2006/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=4761&highlight=ishibashi
Do read up a little and you will probably understand how it works...

Writer: I think the necks were made with the Fender Japan specs in mind. 21 vintage frets and 184R (7.25") neck radius.

LimpPisskit: Thanks for sharing man... Hmm... What I had in mind was the availability and accessibility of inventory info, and the number of Japanese guitar brands. I do wish someone will buy a Caparison... Will be cool! :D

raising the dead...

anyone ordered from ishibashi/apollon before? do we have to pay any tax when the stuff comes in?

i ordered my bass from ishibashi

u hv to pay 5% GST apon collection. i asked the postman if need to pay the GST if i were to collect from the post office myself but he said must.

the service from ishibashi is damn good, n shipment is fast too! they shipped out my bass on a thursday n arrived at my doorstep on sat morning

i didnt pay GST leh. the post office people said it was all paid for when i picked it up at the post office

haha i dont my scanning in my reciept

i paid something close to 60K yen which is around SGD 940 back last august.

no taxes.(which really surprised me, i got the money out and was waiting to pay)

i guess it could be because of this. under my research prior to getting a aerodyne bass , i found out that singapore has a no dual taxation system with japan.

therefore, if taxes are paid in japan, we can tell the taxman to lay off on our guitars once they touchdown here.

thus , i concluded that i didnt pay tax on my aerodyne jazz bass because, simply 8) , ISHIBASHI paid the tax on the shipping (CIQ = good + insurance + shipping) when they settled the shipping for me. thus, there is no taxation

BUT, if you use singpost on the other hand, this means that you must pay the local taxman here for CIQ because the good was handled by singpost.

anyway, i just picked up the bass at the post office as i live close by. singpost merely acted as a logistics transhipment for EMS and no delivery was technically done (another possible reason)

quite confusing really. the counter staff said no further charges, i asked 3x. oh well , no extra payment dosent hurt me :D

besides, i m not the only one. have asked around and asked another softie, momorockstar and she said when she ordered the only extra frill she had to pay was the $5 handling charge when they sent it to your doorstep

eh no leh stars

i told u i had to pay 5% GST to the postman. didnt prepare in advance nearly had to watch the postman leave
