Anyone use GUITAR RIG?

hmm.. sorry to hijack ur thread.. but how did u connect your guitar to the computer? where did u get the cable? thnx!

never used Guitar Rig b4, but if i'm not wrong ur com is producing two sounds: the sound from the guitar, and the processed sound right? just need to turn off ur mic output.

hmm so u mean ur playing doesn't match with the speaker... hmm... maybe try to free up more memory resources and see if it helps then.

it wrotes there my com only use 13% only. also got like feedback. any output and delay latency? or maybe my soudncard too lousy?

Welcome to crappy latency. If you're on ASIO, lower the buffers and decrease the latency times. If it's already the minimum without crackles, then you need to buy a new card. It works great on bass as well.

its not much of the memory problem..i assume u've met the system requirements. so i tink ur ASIO latency setting is too high..

ur dry guitar sigmal goes thru guitar rig effects processing before it comes out the speaker. that makes the delay if u dont have low lantency souncard and a good system.

if u believe ur system and soundcard is up to standard, try dis:
go to file-->audio+midi settings
set ur ASIO latency settings to 10ms or lower..
set to lower sample rate also..u dont need 96KHz
u must have a good soundcard to get the most of of this rig..

if still cannot then time to upgrade

i set both input and output 7ms.

what is asio? im using cretaive soundblaster live 2.1 if im not wrong.

can reccomend me cheap but able to use this guitar rig soundcard?

yeah i think its probably the Soundcard. cos Soundblaster aint never meant to be used for real-time recordining (i.e. monitoring and recording at the same time.)

well... for something cheap and "adequte" i see someone selling the USB Fast-track or something a few ADs ago... maybe you can check them out. i think its perfect for guitarist who just need to lay a few tracks.

On the other hand... I'm not sure if SoundBlasters handles the ASIO really well... but you can try. What i heard is.. using the windows XP WDM drivers can actaully reduce latency by quite a bit (for normal soundcards that is)...

Just try all sorts of drivers until you get the one with the least latency lah, if not get another soundcard

hi..i tried doing the same thing as u did, u noe, plug in the guitar direct to the mic slot, and i did experience the delay as u did.

well, been looking around for ways to solve, but din really find anyhting, UNTIL, i went to sinamex. there's this multimix8USB, a mixer that's wired directly into your pc, for real time recording. note:almost NO delay.

the cubase is also foc, and..i dunno...u shd try to come down there and ask ard...i'm aiming to buy it at e end of nxt mth...(if my GAS doesn't surface...or else..its gone...)

retails abt $325 i think?
