Hi All,

Came across a link at http://www.geocities.com/charlesarms/ on the how to step by step guides. That made me wanna make an attempt to do it too but before doing so I would be keen to know anyone attempt it ? Any good tips and guide to share would be good. Alternatively if anyone have visited any music store like davis, sinamex, swee lee etc for a good defret job ? and service charge as well ? Thanks

The process described at this website is OK, you can use various tools to remove the frets, and you can get pullers similar to those that Stew Mac will sell you quite cheap in SG. The heat treatment is not always necessary depending on the instrument's original construction. In some instruments, too much heat treatment might dislodge the fingerboard itself. You can also use wood putty or a mixture of dust and epoxy to fill .
