Need pro help to strip that poly clear coat shit off my guitar. In the past there's gr3y custom shop for all the modding stuff but very unfortunately, he stopped(still wish him all the best). So my only option is gone, any other recommendation?

relinquish69, you asking who? ts or me?

iwantdigimon, maybe we should invest in a sander eh..
coz both my hands now feeling comfortably numb.. sand until siao

:p

eieio: I was referring to the TS :). I've been through the hand sanding process. not funny at all man. I now have the right tools but I should have got them before I attempted my last job. What was my last job, hush....

I am only looking forward to stripping the poly off my neck ONLY. Not for the appearance but for the feel and speed.

Do you charge a fee for that to be done? I need it urgently though :(

eh actually not that hard to diy but can be done I guess (I have to hear the full story haha). from my POV, it sounds like a simple job & should be done within a day or two but I'd never know unless more details come spilling in. PM me.

Yes relinquish 69, hand sanding is no joke
a good alternative to pump up muscles.. veins.. eheh
what correct tools you suggest for enter the sandman job?

eh.. u go hardware store they should sell la. the tool with flat surface for u to kiap the sand paper on. of course, sand in a circular motion so that u have a lower tendency to oversand certain areas.

my advice is, if you not going to strip paint on a regular basis, you won't have a need for one.

I think maybe Guitar Workshop does it. They do quite a bit of quirky repairs, at a price though. I wanted them to help me custom cut a pickguard. TYMC and GC both don't do it. So i'm guessing maybe GW can.

truth is GC can do, a good job in fact. they cut pickguards by hand so it's extremely time consuming and they have heaps of repairs coming in everyday.

pickguard cutting can be considered an easy job if only they had the right tools (CNC machine, scroll saw etc etc)

Not for the particular material i wanted. THey said they didn't do it cause it was to risky. So it depends on the specifics. I'm sure Kelvin can do it, he's great at these custom jobs. But then, it depends on the minor details as well.

sounds interesting haha. you need to find someone with a lot of patience! If the design looks flimsy right, it definitely wouldn't be worth making because the tendancy of breaking is high. you wouldn't want that :s

Definitely not. Which is why i went to GW. They charge high prices, but they're really specialized. I wanted a wooden pickguard. With Gr3y gone i went to these three shops. Only GW would attempt. At a high price though.
