swee lee online says its 193 bucks.

Its quite good for basic distortion but sooner or later you will get a distortion pedal because it gives better distortion than most solid state amps and some further EFX like Wah + Distortion requires the Wah to be placed before the distortion process.

so i don't think you should look for distortion as a criteria when looking for good starting amps. look for a good clean sound 1st. with a good clean a pedal can give you good distortion later...

coz mainly.. i playing Punkrock genre.. then i need to use of distortion or overdrive.. my amp clean sound , to me its quite good.. maybe i buy another distortion and overdrive pedal to save cost? how much is that cost?

Aye the Cube has some of the loveliest cleans to my ears cause it's an emulation of my favourite amp for clean tones, the Roland Jazz Chorus 120. Superb with a jazz box with p90s. Distortion wise it sounds pretty good too.

But if you want to save even more money, since you mentioned your amp's clean is good enough for you, then it will be a good base to build up some serious distortion. I think you can try the Behringer GDI 21 which is an amp emulator and a pseudo distortion pedal. Here's a link:

$75 bucks only too!

icic...is theres such pedal for many use? Whats BOSS pedal for? maybe effects?? so far.. i still haven learn how to use effects le.. =\

a pedal with many use?

u mean multi effects??

boss are single pedals...unless ur gettin at gt8 and stuff.

oh... i am newbie to those effects.. so i not sure.. haha..mostly amp with distortion can't sound better than a distortion pedal?

depends...well..the distortion on the amp can only be as good as it gets.

dude..maebe when ur gonna hop into the "effects" wagon..u shud take the multieffects route instead.it might save u some time..cos u can play with the effects and all..

I don't know how to buy anyway..hmm.. to use distortion pedal.. need to plug in thru amplifier? i think i better ask my teacher.. before purchasing one

Just plug guitar -> Pedal -> amp instead of guitar -> amp.

The cheapest and best imo BOSS-DS-1 for distortion .can getit for 100 1st hand and 50 2nd hand - saw one 2nd hand on the buy/sell section in fact.

and sorry i'm not a fan of multi-EFX cuz really, you pay much more than single effect for many effects you may not need.

actually, if you are really just starting out and you want a pretty good buy, try the combo packages. City Music has one with craftman ST30 gtr + vox 15R at only $280 I think, plus accessories.

Swee Lee has the Epiphone Les Paul package and the Strat package. Both I think are less than $600 (not sure about this tho). Comes with amp and accessories too (strap, tuner etc.)

If you want to buy multi effects, try the KORG/TONEWORKS AX1500 at second hand, some sell for $180. Or hovering around that price. It's pretty good sound once you know how to manipulate the tone, etc. There's always a manual you can follow...

Pignose Portable Rechargeable amps

Do check out Pignose line of Portable Rechargeable amps.

They can be a good starter amps and due to their recharging and portable fuctions, they are unlikely to outlive their uses even if you upgrade to bigger amps in future.

You can play them anywhere, at the beach, park, etc...

Nice webby and amp.. erm.. i already own a guitar already.. just that.. my guitar and my amp wanting to change to other due to the design of the guitar is not well-design and amp is not good for overdrive.. anyway.. thanks man

if u really wanna get a floyd rose guitar..... i would suggest spending around another $100 for a tremol-no... it prevents the trem from moving.... yea.... and makes tuning easy as hell..... but still like most of the people here say.... set up would be difficult.... yep.... my first guitar was a floyd and i was like noob shit... literally.... my fren was like telling my at the end of the day i would be better at tuning than playing guitar.... ha haz.... anyway ..... i suggest if u really wanna WHAMMY!!! get a vintage trem guitar.... other than tt get a fixed bridge

distortion pedals sounding more incredible than the average amp's drive is quite a fallacy- it all depends on what's on offer by the manufacturer.

i'm basically a guitar + amp person, this is the best combination for true manifestations of you guitar's inherent tone/ your fav pickups. on-board amp drive is conceived more meticulously to manifest a good tone with the amp's circuitry; the reason why players opting for Marshall/ MESA/ Bogner among others, would do well to not desecrate their amp's drive tone. if the need arises for more kick, a mild drive booster would be employed.

i'm not over-looking good drive pedals in the market either; there are plenty out there but it's a different chemistry compared to an amp's inherent overdrive/ distortion. there's no better option, it's a matter of preference.

guitar

Try the Yamaha Pacificas or the LTDs like the EC 50. About the amp, i think u should try the classifieds and get an amp that u can afford. If u calculate, guitar(example Pacifica 112 Used $200) plus amp (example Yamaha GA10 used $80), u will save way a lot.

Hope this help.
