Any nice guitar apps on the iPhone to recommend?

I got ChordBank, Guitar Toolkit, Free Guitar (cause iShred is a toy and I doubt it's ever useful...but please correct me if I'm wrong), Gibson Learn and Master Guitar.

Any apps that you guys use that's useful / good to have for a guitarist?

iShred is NOT a toy!

I don't know if you've seen this.

The guitarist in there is using iShred, I have it and it's pretty darn awesome.

TC Electronic has the PolyTune app which works surprisingly well with the in built mic.

Yes, I have seen the video. It was a commercial to promote the iPhone and the story about the band's equipment being stolen was actual fictional.

The thing is that, you can't really perform any solos or do anything much with an iShred because you mostly play chords and I wouldn't want to invest USD4.99 on an app when I'd rather be playing my real guitar and practicing on it. But I do, however, admit that iShred might be a handy tool if you're trying to play by ear some songs since they got a chord library ready and you can easily put in the chords and strum to see if it's correct. But that's as much use as I have for it.

Thanks Dodgethis, I saw the app. But it resembles Guitar Toolkit, except that the price is a lot more affordable. But Guitar Toolkit also has got stuff for other instruments like Mandolin and Banjo...although what I really need is what you just provided because I don't play the Mandolin or Banjo, just the guitar.

Umm.. dude I'm sure the statement about them losing their gear wasn't meant to be taken seriously. It's obviously just a viral video with one goal, to promote themselves as a band. The statement just gave the video a premise.

But if anyone is looking for a guitar instrument app, out of the whole lot on the app store this one definitely stands out from the bunch as the most playable. I wouldn't rule out playing solo's on the thing as you've got a chromatic/scale mode too.

I haven't really thought about doing anything fancy with iShred other than to strum and figure out songs by ear. It's one of the faster way to do it if you're outside without a guitar.

I'm looking for something...more...that doesn't cost a bomb. The iRig is a really pricey equipment that I don't really wanna fork out the money for but it seems so intricate though. I might actually plan to have it but still...I'm being indecisive here...

the iRig and amplitube really shines on the iPad because you can adjust everything much much more easily. I really think it's quite a good tool to have on the go when you're talking about guitar apps. Tried it. Surprisingly good stuff... and worth it for quiet quiet (quiet x2 because nothing really beats an amp) home practice and on the go.
