Hi, i'm just wondering if there's any music shops in singapore that are willing to hire 17 year olds or rather an O-level graduate student. somewhere that sells a balance of almost every instruments is more preferred. thanks :)

umm yeah, i play the bass. but i've got about a year's experience so i'm not sure if it's even enough in the first place :l

Well, you don't need to be an expert in an instrument, though it's useful to have first hand experience of what you're gonna sell. As with any job hunt the best thing to do is put in some effort and go and check it out yourself. I've spotted at least one "hiring" ad in the window of a shop in Peninsula/Excelsior area. Or if you're keen / thick skin enough, enquire even if they don't display any hiring ad. Worse thing that can happen is they tell you no...

i've tried asking most shops in singapore. apparently they only want people above the age of after-NS. so kind of at a loss since i'm only 17. but thanks for the advice, haven't tried excelsior area yet :)

SV Guitars seem to be hiring, well at least that was the case when I last checked their website 1 or 2 weeks ago. Do drop them an email, you just might get a job:)

Send your resume everywhere. I got interviewed by City Music but didn't get in maybe cause I lack charisma, haha. I'm not a very good salesman. Yes, at most, they'll say 'No'. What can they do to you? Don't worry. Besides, each interview will get better and better because you know what to expect.

u can try yamaha(PS) if u are able to work on weekdays. i heard from a friend that they are looking for ppl to work on weekdays
