Any guitars to reccomend for a beginner?

Hello guys, im new here and i'm planning to get an electric guitar and an amp if possible. My budget is around $400. So do you guys have any guitars to reccomend? Thanks.

Can try davis at peninsular.... dun have 2nd hand but i think that it is a good place for beginers to get their guitar...they have a large range of affordable guitars... or another way is go swee lee get those package deals where it comes with all the basic stuff a guitarist need like strap, tuner and i think got book somemore. But i not sure if it comes with an amp... Not bad lar... if i not wrong got fender and ibanez...

so is it $400 including amp?

shouldnt be a problem i guess...my advice is try to stay away from those "packages" with everything in one , I dont think they're good

for 2nd hand guitars, altho they tend to be more expensive ones, but i've seen cheap ones hanging around, u can go to Guitar Connection or try Dennis at Guitar 77. better yet, http://www.luthermusic.com has a classifieds section, check that often. cheers

I would suggest getting a first hand guitar .... 400 get an Aria or SX strat .... rest use to buy amp .... I think still will have change .....

i support the idea of 2nd hand guitars too, coz you get a good value guitar for a cheaper price simply coz its been used nevertheless the quality and value of the guitar for eg. a Jap Fender strat will still be much better than a brand new SX Strat

Y not get a samick greg bennett. Heard that is a pretty good guitar. Plus it cost around 200 if i m not wrong, the rest can invest in amp, efx, etc etc.

i think there's a good deal floating around luther ads..rg470 used, it's made in japan, not sure which yr so not sure which bridge, comes with DiMarzio FRED and PafPro pickups, 500+ though out of your budget but quite ok i think with the two pickups..
