Any gd metal bands to listen to?????

i kinda feel that the band The Darkness is rather old school rock and roll or glam rock. metal is abit off a description for tt band.

Hmmm how about iron maiden and cradle of filth ?? not really metal but more melodious hahaha. You can consider X Japan too. They are not really metal but they do have some nice hard rock songs.

agreed. more to glam metal(think k.i.s.s). and avenged 7 fold can't really be classified as metal.. they are a fusion of punk and metal(or so they say on their web) but they still play good music.. penta-tonic has basically listed almost all of the metal bands.. but here are a few more: iced earth,ensiferum, rammstein,g3,primus. just to name a few..

Arch Enemy (highly recommend if you like death metal)
Nightwish (some ppl might not like the opera-like voice, but try listening to more than few songs)
Kamelot (wooo, they're awesome too!)

Top on my list of recommendations would be Iron Maiden and old school Metallica. If you want to try some vintage metal try the first few albums of Black Sabbath, especially Paranoid. For melodic stuff, Blind Guardian, Avantasia, Nightwish, Stratovarius, Sonata Arctica... If you like progressive metal, go for early Dream Theater stuff.
