Well, I'm pretty sure there are plenty of threads on this forum asking similar or maybe even identical questions, so I guess it'll do you some good to use the Search function to find some answers to some of your questions.

sometimes we get started on the wrong note because, heck, it's the faceless world of the internet, who gives a hoot. but i believe, more often than not, we just don't know the ethic standards of certain forums- some are more tolerable than others. anyway, we are here to make friends more than anything else, yes?

this would have solved the problem anytime. while at penin, check out music them and guitar connection too. very near to one another. they should have cheap starter packs for strats. if not, they can work out a deal.

anyway, saw ur TGM les paul tryout..neck pickup damn smooth sia..but i think the microphone isnt giving ur guitar any justice..lolz..

yes, expect brands like SX though. not reputable, but...who cares! still, dont expect much from that kinda budget

how about a squier california series strat? $300, slightly above your budget but a pretty good sound and quality for the price.
