im preparing for basses to buy for my bro. He has been playing for 2yrs++.
He has the skills but the sound is not there. any reccomendation for wat bass is gd quality and affordable and nice body. i don't want the fender type of body. Thank You.

many basses possess that 'fender' dual cutaway type body. please specify what you are looking for.

Almost all basses are dual cutaway so that will be pretty hard to find...
I know of an Ibanez Artcore model, semi hollow, single cut design.

If your bro's having problems getting good tone, I suggest getting a cheap bass first. Once he learns how to get good tones on a cheap bass, give him the money to get a good bass, and he'll start to fly.

If a bassist doesn't know how to set the EQ on the amp or how to get a range of tones with his fingers alone, even a $10k bass won't help.

theres yamaha BB, RBX, ibanez BTB or soundgear, Stingray and SUB MM, ESP. cort, aria,

yamaha BB gd quite worth it for the price and the tone. suits wat u mention i guess.

really depends on wats ur brother's style and the stuff he plays. rock, blues, .... if u want a small bass body,.. ibanez soundgear are ok.

some bassplayers like single pickup some like two pickups some like the p bass,..

u mention u dun like the fender body,. alot of bass evolve from them actually.
