Ok, iKnow, sorry if this content looks repeated. But that's for the iPhone.

The difference here is the iPad, which really took full advantage of its size, fulfilling the whole idea of the AmpliTube iRig. Just wondering how you geetarist view this way of effecting you tones.

There're a lot more demo's on YouTube of course. It's neat, and DSP had matured in some ways, shortening the gap between the analog and digital world. Not sure if we will see someone using this on a live gig. That will be interesting to watch and listen. :)

the idea of using a touch panel with geetar is cumbersome imho. Especially when having the needs to trigger the effect and trying to play geetar at the same time. Most of the developement for music stuff on the ipad deal with using it as controller for daw, synth and sound generating device/instrument on its own instead.

For years, folks been using computer/laptop with such software plus a midi controller to trigger the effect via midi and perhaps the only new thing in the ipad is that touch panel, compare to using mouse for the changing of parameters.

Oh well, that said, i would love to get the pad as well, but not for geetaring purpose for sure.

I don't think it'd make sense for live music, but it is refreshing nonetheless to see development for a road less traveled. If there's any chance I get an iPad, I'll probably give it a try.

I do agree with you that the gap between DSP and analog is getting less and less these days.

This is cool for portable guitar playing. When hanging out with band members and suddenly you get inspiration or the itch to doodle as everyone is just stoning around. Don't think it's useful as a main effects equipment, but it's good for self use.

We can always place the iPad on the floor and trigger the pedals with our toes. :) Haha. Ok, kidding. Nobody will do that to harm that precious gadget. I guess IK need to come up with some floor triggers to connect to the data-pin slot. Also, the dongle for inter-connecting the stereo jacks looks like a poor design. Let's hope the product design improves over time.

Might be possible for live use if you're not the only guitarist in the band or theres at least a keyboardist supporting you.
The ipad could be placed on the music stand while the i rig should be place on the floor and must be taped down so that it dosen't move around too much.

Does this thing have like presets? Like where u can instantly draw up a preset of say 4 or 5 different effects ready to be used?
