Hey guys im looking for an amp thats about 30 or more watts, Can anyone recommend anything thats 375$ or less thankes

Roland Cube 30 is one.

I recommend Marshall MG30. Powerful solid state amp. Sometimes i don't even bother to plug my distortion units in and just use the OD channel.

It is a good practise amp, its suitable for small gigs as well.

agree.

i somehow prefer the drive from the MG series rather than the entry-level AVTs.

on another note, there's a SMARVO 40watter amp over @ Rankin Sports, about $400 only if memory serves me right. it's a Marshall copy & it'll take on any Marshall solid state any time. IMO it's value-for-money, definitely.

then again, you need to ask yourself what kind of music you play. Vox good for clean tone. Marshall good for distortion rock tone.

I prefer the VOX Valvetronix AD-30VT. Cuz it got tube preamp, amp modelling and efx built in. Also able to save 2 presets of amp n efx setting.

Also it a vox, and a gd buy considering what they say abt the low watt power amp section.

BUT go test urself, n trust ur own ears. only u know what tone fit ur style of music, n who cares what others think really.

Which is better?? Vox Pathfinder or Valvetronix?? I have read the reviews at harmony central.. It seems that pathfinder is better.. hmm..

The Pathfinder is just a simple straight forward amp with no bells and whistlers.

The Valvetronix series for the 15/30/50 watts are a relatively newer range offering a 12AX7 tube in the power amp section, wattage attentuator, versatility and very realistic and warm amp modelling (imo, the overall best amp modeller in the market today)

I second the Smarvo if you wish to play/practise clean.

It is too clean actually. Not my cup of tea, thats why i bought the MG series amp.

If you are a distortion lover, Smarvo will never satisfy you.

I actually grew to like the distortion channel actually, it is VERY middy compared to the clean channel. If you dial in a slight amount of gain and let your pedals drive up the channel it can actually sound not bad. The only gripe I have is that it can become a little too middy.

I was actually considering the Vox Valvetronix 30 watts and the MG30dfx. the thing im worried about in the dfx is it only has a 2 band equalizer in the clean channel. Im gonna buy a V-amp2 and htat has an equalzer but if i have no effects on at all and the modeller is between the amo and guitar. Would the equalizer there affect the marshall? or would it hav eti have th eeffects on for the EQ to work? I really want a Marshall kick-@$$ distortion and cleans. If my v-amp solution doesnt work, ill get an equalizer pedal. anyone know a good equalizer pedlal?

If you are going for the V-amp2, I'll say go for the XVamp, got effects and amp modeller.
But of course it's not gonna sound "AWESOME', both are made of cheap plastic, which makes it very very fragile. I guess it'll do well as a cost cutting unit though.

Why not consider a Smarvo? It's 40w, has a 12" speaker, and is BLOODY LOUD. It's cheap, and it sounds damn good too! If you want I can post a few clips of the sounds I'm getting from my Smarvo at the moment. Shredcow thinks that my tone is very Marshall..
