American Standard Strat S-S-S vs American Deluxe Strat S-S-S

Just wanna know what you guys felt bout this two guitar. Please give your comments on this two beauty. Do not reply if you want to compare the price. Anyway is about 200USD difference.

American Standard Strat

the most difference is probably from the S1 switching, not that great acc. to many, and the SCN pickups. never tried one though.

Don't forget the contoured heel on the Deluxe, but it didn't seem like much of a difference to me. The chunky heel is still well... chunky. The S1 looks useful on paper but I didn't really dig any of the sounds available, probably due to the SCN's, didn't really like the pickups. You're mostly paying for nicer wood, the S1 and a cosmetic upgrade.

I currently own the AM deluxe HSS, Ive played many AM standards before but the diff is, for the AM deluxe the tremelo is the push pull locking kind, which makes things easier, the fretboard is cosmetically nicer looking, with nicer inlays/woodgrain, it is heavier than the standard(weight), the SCN with the S1 is just an additional option available for you to choose different tones if you are bored.the contoured heel is so so la, slight diff in making out of reach places reachable...

is i were you, id get the AM deluxe cos its not that much more expensive than the standard.PUPS and all that can change later, but workmanship wise, deluxe is better I think.

there isn't a vast leap in workmanship between the Am Series (please, there's no more American Std) & the Deluxe. if you like the former's feel & tone, the Deluxe offers more exotic features than increased playability/ tone per se.

[Tone] Heavier wood means better substain?

I'v saw 2-3 MIA strats. All of them were facing inwards the shop rather then the MIJ which were facing outwards. The 1st strat I'v saw is a 3 tone sunburst with pearl dot inlay and S1 price at only 1600SGD. 2nd strat is a vintage white with bout same specs as the 1st strat price at 2100SGD(vaughly remember). Its a real deal compare when you buy from SL. The price i vaugly remeber maybe I'm not that accurate but anyway is the price that let me took notice and remembered it till now. Recommandable to buy Fender from Davis?

if your talking about the cream(or is it vintage white, dont know how to call it..) american deluxe at davis, my friend just picked it up last saturday so that leaves you with just the other american deluxe..davis' pricing on fenders are really inexpensive when compared with sweelee..

omg... argh nvm not like they gg to stop productions... if i'd really want it then paying more its ok sommore have more time to consider if a Gibson Supreme do fine too... Anyway lucky friend! And how much he bought?

anyway just for price reference incase you do pursue a strat in the future, the american series strat(formerly US standard i think) in sweelee, retails for way more than the american deluxe at davis considering that the american deluxe should be a little more expensive than the american series..

but I wonder how come Davis sells so cheap even let's say Deluxe is 2100 they only make bout 200-300. Wherelse MIA standard in SL sells it even more expensive. And anoyone know where they took it from? LOL scarly is 2nd but but in excellent condistion... Jk Jk

Davis has this pricing policy: their tagged price are the lowest they can offer, regardless of how much everyone else prices that particular product. do call them & ask where they get it from...

its still at least a couple of hundred dollars more for the american series after the usual 20% discount..
