What are those tiny metal things some guitars have on e headstock whereby e string passes under them before going into e machine heads called?

If it clamps down the string, its called locking nut.

If it's like those on Fender guitar, its called a string tree.

what's the diff btw neck/mid/bdg pups.

the diff of sound / tone ... e.g. clean / muddy / distortion

does it sounds as good when standalone or must it b combine with e.g. pedals / amps ... what wud b good with it ...

errhs, i'm just a starter for guitar and wish to buy one. those hollowbodies, 7 strings and whatever cut de, is it electric guitar or a classical guitar? i know 7 strings are electric, what about others?
