advice on distortion sound.........

long sustain with low gain, sustain like crazy...........esp with Gary Moore, the volume on his tube amps are cranked up really loud in the studio or on stage. on P.walkways live, theres no sustainaic thingy installed etc etc. and the distance/angle he stands from his amp, gives us an idea of how loud he has to be to achieve that sustain. at the right loud volume, even a clean channel note could go into feedback.

volume accentuates sustain because decaying notes are 'louder'. to many of us, softer, decaying notes indicate the end of sustain which is a misconception.

hmm i belive the guitar tech that Gary Moore employ is helping in the background..He did a decent job...perhaps vol pedal involved at the back ..??? could be...
anyway ..you can do it too by stomping on a boost pedal or vol pedal..
