hi guys , i just started out and i intend on getting a cymbal set , what starter set would you recommend?
 
hmm.. from what i knw. dun get the zildjian starters. so stay off the zbt zxt zht. yea. personally i like the paiste pst5s. but there are also many great reviews on istanbul.istanbul you can get from nigel i think. also consider turkish which you can get from alvin at music lab. yep. and the sabian b8s are not bad too. yep.

but dun touch the zildjians thats my advice


sorry to any zildjian fans, i think that the Ks As are good but not their starters man
 
Depends on what kind of sound you like bro. Is there such thing as starter cymbals and professional cymbals? I have not heard of it before. All depends on what quality of sound U want.
 
What's your budget? How 'serious' are you about this game? Do you feel like you're gonna stick with it for life, or are you just 'testing the waters'?
 
hi guys thanks for the response ! Im not too sure as to what my budget is ..=( . I've heard the paiste ones and those are nice , but im not too sure , um i dont really know .. i mean if i get a good set it'll probably last me a long time .. thanks .. btw how much is the paiste going for nowadays?
 
Turkish cymbal packs are bang for the buck, won't go wrong with 'em.

And by Turkish, I don't mean the company Turkish, I mean any one of the Turkish companies - Bosphorus, Istanbul Agop, Istanbul Mehmet, Turkish, etc.
 
Just wait the for Moderate series cymbal set by Turkish. Hand hammered @ $380. Expected to be in in Jan 09 at Music Lab.
 
Wow D_H. The Moderate cymbal pack is only $380? I use it during lessons with Alvin. Very nice. $380 is insanely cheap for that quality.

ok like me. when i started i hell dunno what is pearl tama what what. ok i knew there were these brands but dunno diff. so i went to this F-ing store in penin, some indian folk sell me a drumset. he say that one good quality and dunno what his own brand. so that time sua koo i just say ok buy! bloody 600+. went back then i realised THATS A CALOS! that bugger con me. so thats my story. so now i make sure i dun get conned one. unhonest person!


haha so those newbies you did the right thing come to soft and ask. softies will help you anyday. am i right?
 
omg sux to be conned.. i think its better not to rush into buys, and do some research 1st, i juz started out too and not sure if i got conned buying a 2nd hand pearl RT lol
 
you know that brand the one you find at ranking the cheap one. not sure carlos or calos i think carlos. not sure hahaa
