Hey everyone. (:

i'm trying really hard to become a keyboardist that can improvise, easily use all the cool effects and do vocals at the same time.

i'm someone who's equiped with very basic keyboard skills.
its all self-taught. all i know are the basic chords.
most of the time i just randomly play songs i compose with the very limited knowledge i have.

i want to learn to play decently with the keyboards
and learn and undersand effects and synthesizing.
there's just one problem..

i know nuts about all these stuff. hehe.

can anyone tell me the steps
on which part to research and learn about first?
so that i can learn how to use the effects and stuff.?

you've to get past playing simple things first. once you can improvise fluently on your own, you're ready to start using effects and everything.

to master the effects and the equalizing, refer to the manual of your synthesizer. different manufacturers have different effects chain.

hope this helps.

go take some class lo...

the Yamaha music plaza combo sch only 2 years
can cover almost all kinds of playing in a band

thanks guys. (:
i guess ya kinda noticed im one blur person.
well i cant go for classes, ive got no $$$ for it. haha.

but are you serious? in 2 years?

would you like to edit your title to reflect your question a little better?

thanks.

you should check out Keyboard magazine ( http://www.keyboardmag.com/ )either from the library or bookstores like Borders.

for a start, it might seem a little information overload but take your time. read from front to back, Jan to Dec.

yeah! Keyboard magazines
I've been reading it since 1989,
now available at Esplanade library!!!

Some good columns for playing,
if not classes, then go read some books.
