you are refering tho Gibsons, yes? yes, the thickness is comparable to a classical guitar (Gibson LP Custom) but the Gibson construction ensures playability, definitely...

Wow...I didn't know the Gibson's version fretwidth is comparable to a classical lol...I can't play classicals...too big...

only Gibson's LP Custom has a marked depth. the rest of them are very playable.

pertaining to the Epi LP- these are rather thin in profile. the Epi LPs were never an accurate reproduction of the Gibson counterpart, till today many people still believe they are...

my advice would be to test them out & choose the one you like best, disregard the 'Custom/ Std/ Classic' tag altogether. unlike the Gibson version, the Epis do not possess the correct features of these names to really reflect what they have to offer.

i'd still urge Epi hunters to consider the Bone Yard/ Zakk Wylde models as these are really good guitars per se.
