hi all,

tried to power up my DD3 with a BOSS 9v 300mA adaptor.
there's power going thru the pedal and the LED was lit, but no effect at all.

nothing wrong with the pedal, coz when i tried it with a 3rd-party adaptor, it worked.
nothing wrong with the BOSS adaptor also, i could power up a series of other pedals with it.
nothing wrong with my daisy chain, when used with a 3rd party 9v adaptor, ALL pedals worked.

see no diff between the 3rd party adaptor and my BOSS adaptor. both 300mA.

very very curious... can somebody tell me wat's the prob? thanks dudes...

Try powering up the DD3 with the daisy chain and boss adapter.

Keep adding a pedal and powering it up.
See whats wrong.

Just keep trying, you'll find out again whats the problem.

My hunch is that the boss adaptor is rated exactly or lower than 300ma , whereas the 3rd party is rated a conservative 300ma.

How many pedals are you powering anyway?
Because 300ma is quite little, a 300ma adapter is designed to power up 1 pedal not multiples.

Get a 1 spot, save the hassle and don't overwork the transformer in the 300ma adapter. It might actually blow up.

yeah, a one spot or a godlyke will probably do better. Although some ppl report problems with switchmode adapters.... I'm using mine to power around 10 pedals including a Moog(with reverse polarity converter) no noise issues whatsover.

i thought i read somewhere, that modulation pedals or maybe delay pedals might draw more current.

i'm not too sure thou.

ACA is for MIJ or older MIT BOSS pedals.
PSA is for MIT or any new BOSS pedal.

Basically ... can head down to G77 to get the 1spot, all problems solved.
1spot in-stock ... better hurry down.
