Acoustic to Bass

Hello,

I had been playing the acoustic guitar for 2 years now, good but not an expert in it. I'd been thinking of switching to a bass recently. So, I wanna ask if is there any major change in playing the acoustic to the bass or anything I have to look out for?

Thanks and good day sir/madam.

hey bro!

welcome to the bass players club! haha.

switching shouldn't be too difficult sing you have left/right hand coordination built up pretty well now but i think you should take note of some fundamental techniques for the bass when you pick it up. that includes left hand fingering and right hand techniques.

i suggest you get a bass teacher to guide you along in the early stages. Once you are more confortable you can slowly progress on your own and get it down on the low end man.

Used to play bass notes using the acoustic guitar and I didnt know I'm playing bass :d

Learning any instruments before picking up bass will be added advantage.

Have fun

Oh okay thanks a bunch fellow mates. Still considering though. I went to look around some sites selling basses. I noticed that most bass are generally more expensive than electric guitars. If that's the case I really wish to buy an electric rather than a bass with the kind of money I have now.

LOL. That's not true. You can get some good starter bass pack if you look carefully. I don't think you should be looking at the sites. Instead, head down to Swee Lee/Davis or any music shop to check out the basses.

Davis sells lower-end basses that are suited for beginners.
