To all readers. may i know what is the difference between a graphtech nut and a bone nut. besides tone. Which is worth more the change.
Bone $70 graphtech $45.
Please enlighten me on the nut details.
Also do suggest cheap and nice place to do the replacment too.
Many thanks to the future readers and helpers. :D

Bone can have inconsistancies, meaning some spots can be softer than others. Tusq on the other hand is much more consistant.

Bone is harder than tusq, so if you're a big bender, or a heavy trem user, a tusq nut can wear down faster than a bone nut.

Tusq claims to have self lubricating qualities. So they supposedly keep a guitar in tune better.

Whatever it is, make sure the nut is slotted properly by a professional. Thats the most important part, not the material.

You can look for these services at Maestro, who also stock Graphtech nuts. Mike at Standard Value also charges a reasonable price for a bone nut and service.

i thought bone is very dense, considered the hardest material for nuts and uniform in its density/hardness? more so than fossilised ivory.

OMY this is deep. I recently picked up e.guitaring and i was given this old OLD old yamaha buy my uncle which wood i'm not too sure of.
